*******************
Once again this year the Onondaga County Medical Society hopes to send a large contingent from Syracuse to Albany for this important function. As one of our past presidents said, "Take one day a year away from your practice to make the rest of the year better."
Free bus transportation will be provided, as well as free donuts, coffee, cold drinks, and lunch.
When more details are available we will share them with you.
For planning purposes, our buses would be leaving at 6:15 a.m. sharp and will be back in Syracuse no later than 5:30 pm.
Physician Volunteers, Donations Needed for 2010 State Fair
The 2010 NYS State Fair will run from Thursday, August 26 through Monday, September 6. While it is true that the state fair is a few months away, we ask that our member physicians seriously consider volunteering this year to work a shift at the Medical Society of the State of New York booth. This is an excellent opportunity for physicians to promote their practices, and requires very little effort (the Medical Society does all setup, crowd control, and scheduling). If you do not wish to volunteer, perhaps you have materials to donate to the booth, or are aware of a source from which we can get free materials to distribute? In the current economy it has become increasingly difficult to get the "freebies" fairgoers love--pencils, rulers, bags, coloring books promoting child health and safety, informational pamphlets on timely health topics such as diabetes, obesity, the dangers of smoking, drug or alcohol abuse, osteoporosis, autism, arthritis, stroke and heart attack, etc., are greatly needed. Please contact Patricia Corasaniti, the Medical Society State Fair coordinator, at 424-8118 for details, or if you have information regarding free materials.
